Officials are investigating after a man is seen petting a bison on the head at Yellowstone National Park. The incident was posted on YouTube on July 8.

Just never get in between a rutting Buck and his target Doe.
The males may see you as competition for the Doe’s affections, and try to shish-kabob you with their antlers.
Goats and Bulls can also become especially crabby during Mating Season. There clear message to you is “MOVE, Dammit!!”

I was in my car parked watching a buffalo when I see a guy walk up to one to take a photo.
He was lucky that buffalo did not mind.
Me? I used a telephoto lens!

Try petting my cat on the stomach. You’d wish you’d petted the bison, instead.
And the American bison would be a better national totem animal than the eagle. The bison minds his own business watches over the herd and fights off predators. The eagle is a predator.
Well, I was in Yellowstone about 3 months ago and on the way to Old Faithful you can stop and see the geysers wetlands. On an island of grass, which cars were parked around, were three buffaloes who had wondered over and were grazing on the grass. There was no wire fence or supervision. People were taking pictures, including me. It seemed quite natural.
My reacting to stories like thus is always “I blame Bambi. And morons.”
Or Gone...is what it is........

All the animals are cute and cuddly; until they GUT YOU.
But he’s wagging his tail.
Pretty bad. Spent yesterday afternoon at a pro-2A rally, with counter-demonstrators across the street and Antifa allegedly mingling with the gun folks. We had them out-numbered bigly, with someone observing that the geezers counter-protesting are the ones that protest everything, anywhere. Lots of laughter at their expense. This part of Oregon is pretty sane.
