Ugly in appearance or Ugly in disposition?

My grandmother often used the word “ugly” when what she meant was “vicious” or “mean” in temperament.

She's there for security purposes, not to flirt.

That's a naive answer. I've watch TSA types a lot. They're human, and I've seen them do a lot of stupid, amusing, enraging, and other kinds of things. Of course many of them flirt with passengers.

It’s not a naive answer. I worked as an officer and Sergeant in Corrections for 25 years. You know nothing about security, or the requirements of working in that field. TSA are there for security. They aren’t there for socializing. They are the last stop before individuals board a plane. Do you want someone who takes their job serious, and does the job according to the rules, or do you want someone who is more interested in laughing, flirting, and carrying on with the boarding passengers, and totally ignoring the job they are paid to do? It’s a no brainer.

So, I don’t believe you. For all of your security and corrections experience, I think you’re blinded to what goes on at TSA checkpoints by TSA folks. Some of it is downright shameful.

You must have either been asleep or on vacation these past two-plus weeks to finally get around to responding. You’re the one who said TSA people were just being “human” when they flirted, and joked around with flyers going through security. I explained that that type of behavior was totally unprofessional, and not part of their duties, or their paychecks.They are there to provide security, not to socialize. If I’m blinded to what goes on at TSA checkpoints, why did I criticize the behavior of that TSA worker? You’re the one that said that that type of behavior goes on all the time, and I pointed out why it shouldn’t. So please explain to me how I’m the one blinded?
