Warner Bros. announces 'Matrix 4' starring Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss

"Matrix 4" has officially been greenlit!

Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity while Lana Wachowski, who co-created the original trilogy, is also attached to the project.

Lana will co-write, direct and produce the film. She will be joined by writers Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell, as well as producer Grant Hill, according to Variety.

Warner Bros. Pictures Group chairman Toby Emmerich announced the news on Tuesday.

No word on Laurence Fishburne role as Morpheus returning. Bummer!! Word is that they may recast him as a younger version in the film.

I loved the Matrix movies. The only criticism was that the 2nd and 3rd film should had been reduced and put together as one film. I guess Hollywood was trying to get as much $$$ by stretching out the movies after the surprising hit of the first one when it didn’t needed to be that long and drawn out

Those two last movies were a drag and just a bunch of special effects for its time. The first one was great and full of surprises

Silly movie with a silly concept. Machines keeping people in a simulated reality to use them for energy. My script solution would have machines using people in the simulation to solve issues in the real world which the machines lacked the imagination to solve themselves. Finding alternate energy sources for example.

The Matrix is easily one of the best movies ever. The 2nd and 3rd editions got increasingly worse as the creators went mad and decided they wanted to be females instead of males. I have no hope for Matrix 4 as it’s likely to be worse than Matrix 3. Of course, I would love to be proved wrong.
