NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Opponents to a Tennessee law requiring women to wait 48 hours before getting an abortion argue that such restrictions help perpetuate negative stereotypes about gender.

The argument is part of a lengthy lawsuit challenging the legality of the waiting period rule, which Tennessee's GOP-controlled Statehouse passed in 2015.

"The act thus violates the Equal Protection Clause by restricting women's ability to make autonomous, voluntary decisions concerning their reproductive lives and their medical care, while no such restrictions are imposed on medical decision-making by men," attorneys wrote on behalf of Planned Parenthood and other women's health clinics in an Aug. 16 pretrial brief.

The Tennessee legislature should immediately amend the law to impose an identical waiting period for men seeking abortions. Since men can now get pregnant and have babies, the abortion lobby wouldn’t have a leg to stand on.

There shoudl be a law that women should be required to wait 24 months before deciding if they want an abortion or not- and make another law that states that no baby born can ever be aborted

The left are always pushing waiting laws like background checks- let’s sort of give them what they want- a waiting law on abortions

“no such restrictions are imposed on medical decision-making by men”...

Okay then-to avoid discrimination, require a 48 hr waiting period for all men before getting a vasectomy. Also, require that the man who impregnated the woman seeking an abortion come to the clinic and be informed that HE has to wait 48 hrs as well, so there is no discrimination-the only exception to the rule would be an immaculate conception-and everyone knows that only happened once...

The abortion clinics know that there is a good chance the woman will change her mind and want to deny her that opportunity.

Ok, then if a Man wants his knocked up honey to have an Abortion and she refuses, he should be absolved of all financial responsibility for having his Right to an Abortion disrespected
