I wouldn’t get an i3 for gaming but I’d probably go Ryzen 5 2600 which would be a good enough upgrade over my gen 3 i5. I’d bet it would be 100 bucks or close to it by the holidays. I nearly pulled the trigger on a combo at Microcenter this spring :-(...
