I went sideways on your thread largely as a reaction to some of the other posts. I haven’t put a desktop together for many years and was interested in your project and suggestions. I think that what you came up with was really great and likely was very helpful to others here. I used to tape a lot of charity events for my wife and I should have been using a desktop for encoding the video. The heat generated from these projects sent a couple of my laptops to an early demise. Even with current processors it is better to do this type of project on a desktop.
I had never heard of pcpartpicker.com; it is a fascinating site and concept. Congratulations on your completed project and thank you for sharing!
Yes, and with my stiff arthritic typo fingers, and the typical heavy load then Desktops are the best.

Yes, that site, with its compatibility and price checking, is of much benefit to those who want parts or put together a whole build.
Congratulations on your completed project and thank you for sharing!
Hey, thank God we can even engage in such, and be a blessing to others!
P.s. as a Windows user you may want to be on the ping list of dayglored. Latest: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3775420/posts
