The difficulties that I have had with AMD products for decades now have almost always been related to compatibility with other hardware.

Many years ago before we had broadband available in our area I spent hundreds of dollars for a system from Directv that used a USB satellite receiver and modem that used the phone line for upload and the satellite dish for download. I spent weeks trying to get the system to work. I finally just gave up.

I didn’t find out until months later that the system just wasn’t compatible with my AMD hardware and the jokers at DIRECTV weren’t telling people because they didn’t want to give people their money back. I never got my money back, but the dish that came with it did give a stronger signal for my satellite TV receiver.

At the time I would have gladly put together an Intel Pentium based system if technical support would have told me what the problem was... and they did know, but were perfectly happy to continue sending me on wild goose chases.
