Haley-Pence rivalry heats up as GOP weighs post-Trump future
Politico ^ | August 24,2019 | Hojczyk

At a time when Republicans are starting to contemplate what their party will look like after Donald Trump leaves office, a rivalry has developed between the two politicians who cut markedly different profiles — and signs of strain are bubbling to the surface.

The Pence team has recently asked senior Republicans for updates on Haley’s outreach to donors. And with Haley embarking on a national fundraising tour and promoting a new outside political group, top Pence advisers blame her for persistent rumors that she will replace him on the Trump's ticket in 2020. Tensions flared after Haley chose not to publicly repudiate a Wall Street Journal column in June urging Trump to put her on the ticket.

Earlier this month, Haley took a swipe at Trump after his criticism of Baltimore and its black congressman, Elijah Cummings. “This is so unnecessary,” she wrote on Twitter, adding the eyeroll emoji. White House counselor and former Pence pollster Kellyanne Conway then fired back: “THIS is so unnecessary. Trump-PENCE2020,” Conway wrote of Haley’s tweet.

“Monkey”

I’m not PC, but they are certain things you don’t say to black people.

Black people aren’t fond of DeSantis and if he runs for president in 2024, 2028 or whenever, he needs to change things with blacks.

No sale on either.

I currently lean toward Rand Paul.

Trump will have A LOT to say about 2024 because his VP will be a front-runner and odds-on favorite to win, as was Reagan’s VP in 1988.

For starters, most of the President’s cabinet is unconstitutional. Begin the dismantling right there. Also, The President is the one to enforce the laws. Since the Forth Branch - the Regulatory State - is also unconstitutional, the President can constitutionally stop enforcing these unconstitutional regulations leading to the dismantling of that unconstitutional area of the feds. Same with clearly unconstitutional federal laws.

You either fight for freedom, or you acquiesce to tyranny.

For you to flatly dismiss whatever efforts it takes to restore our Free Constitutional Republic means either
1) you don’t have much imagination
2) you don’t believe in freedom
3) you don’t believe in the Constitution as written and originally understood and intended
4) you don’t believe in sovereign states independent financially from the feds, or
5) all of the above

“We need him to win but we need him to groom Pence.”

LOL

Pence is a non-starter.

Conservative Orthodoxy all the way. He would undo everything Trump accomplishes.

Cotton or some outsider for 2024....with no baggage.

Not a chance. Cotton has been quiet as a mouse from his Senate intel committee perch while Chairman Burr colludes with Democrats in the coup against POTUS.

Dan Crenshaw, former Navy SEAL and now a Congressman from Texas, has that bold front and some of the quick wit that any serious Republican contender for the Presidency has to present for serious consideration for the job.

Crenshaw is Ben Sasse with prior service. GOPe all the way. Don’t be deceived by his honorable military service.

Politco, begun by Hilary lovers after she was thwarted by Obama’s primary victory in 2008, should have no credibility when discussing Republican politics. They are always working with the evildoers in the Democrat coven to sow discord among Republicans.

Exactamundo. Moreover, Politico or not, the Inside the Belrway chattering class finds itself often bored with actually covering what they're supposed to and instead finds endless fascination in the horserace aspect of the Beltway of which this Haley-Pence article is just another example.

Run another establishment globalist and lose on into perpetuity. The paradigm has changed.

I don’t even think Pence will make it.

I’ve lived and worked all over the world including several armed conflict zones

And I’m old..oldish

I’ve never seen a nation survive the near instantaneous demographic shift we’ve suffered without violence

And I’ve seen a fair amount

It’s funny you accuse me of being a pessimist

My wife’s premier criticism of me is I’m too optimistic in that I am a risk taker assuming I’ll always prevail

So just because I see war coming here doesn’t mean I’m a pessimist

It means I’m optimistic we can destroy their fcuking asses.....but at a damned high cost few can imagine

And what will rise from that..

I’m old

This likely my children and grandchildren’s fight

The GOPe like Pence will not save you

Worthless as tits on a boar

[[I like him but he didn’t handle that whole Christian Pizzeria denying gay pizza wedding situation all that well.]]

The left in its current form will bury any Republican without Trump’s guts. I don’t think Pence could stand the daily assault.

Jeb would be in the basement of the White House now in the fetal position.

Dan Bongino has potential. Nikki Haley and Mike Pence are both long term political types; America needs somebody with a diverse career background that does not involve routine failure.

And Greg Gutfeld as Press Secretary.
