My wife, mom and I went to the races at Del Mar in San Diego. My mom’s friend was a member and gave us passes to the grandstand area—the deluxe seats. So we parked my mom’s Chrysler LeBaron amongst the Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Jaguars of the smart well-off set. Very sharply dressed old men accompanied by drop-dead gorgeous supermodel types. My wife asked, sarcastically, if it was “take your daughter to the track day”. Apparently some young women are quite willing to overlook the infirmities of old age, if the geezer has lots of money.
