It’s not just the media’s assertion that the man was backing away. It’s on the video.
And backing away would have been a perfectly normal thing to do. If I were arguing with a person maybe six feet away from me, and that person suddenly pulled a gun, my first instinct would be to back up. I don’t think anyone’s first instinct would be to turn and run. That might come after backing up.

In response to telling the store manager. he did and the store manager told him not to do anything. That being said. I don’t understand someone aggressively confronting someone in this situation. I’ve occasionally given a friendly warning to people that, if a cop comes by, it’s a $250 fine.
I would have voted for an acquittal.
Everything you said here is what cops do every day. Now tell the cops to stop aggressively coming up on people and aggressively questioning them. Good luck with that.

It’s not very difficult to exhibit road rage in Florida in 2019 if you happen to be a white male. You are a target whether you like it or not, whether or not it is justified. The minorities have learned the law is selectively applied and selectively enforced. That’s all they need to know.
