Beauty Queen That Made China ‘Run Away’ Says Many Chinese Live in Culture of Fear(tr)

She went from being promoted as an international star in China’s state media after winning Miss World Canada to seeing her father’s livelihood destroyed because she wouldn’t stay quiet about the human rights abuses in her home country.

Now, Anastasia Lin is a scholar-in-residence for one month with the Australian think tank the Centre for Independent Studies.

The 29-year-old, described in a Globe and Mail editorial as the beauty queen that China saw and ran away from, revealed in an intimate interview that she has been told by many Chinese diasporas around the world that they worry about persecution from their fellow Chinese, including their own family members, due to the culture of fear instilled in Chinese minds by the communist party.

She said that the communists in China have laboured to create a “very artificial fear” among the populace, leading many mainland Chinese to feel “obligated to persecute” people who stand up to the government.

“You’re obligated to stand by the party line and to suppress your fellow Chinese,” Lin said in an interview with the Menzies Research Centre think tank.

My lovely wife is from China and I have been all over the country. There is a very strong police presence everywhere. Beijing is different, they have police and military everywhere.

She left China to come to Canada and changed her citizenship, and was an activist against China for a number of years publicly trashing them. You mentioned Nathan Hale. He was an American soldier and spy for the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He volunteered for an intelligence-gathering mission in New York City but was captured by the British and executed. He was a spy during time of war, not an activist.

China is not the US or the UK. If they don’t want someone that has trashed them for their political ideologies to come to their country from another country, that is their entitlement. And she decided to be an outspoken activist against them, she chose to cut the strings. And if she opens up anymore about other countries, they are well within their rights to ban her there, also. China lives their lives the way they want to. If she doesn’t like them, keep her mouth shut or it could create problems for her as it did this time. It doesn’t hurt China at all. But if you play the game, you could pay the price as in this time. They didn’t start it, she did by choice.

The US is not China. And she is not a citizen there. If a Canadian here badmouths the US, they won’t be banned from the country. In China, it is their entitlement. They didn’t bad mouth her, she did them.

Seems every time some country that “maltreats” someone in a non-violent way is the villain. She mistreated them first using standards that are not their way of running their country publicly. She and we need to stay out of it and let them make the decisions for what they feel is right for them. She ain’t hurt, just embarrassed and trying to put the blame on China to cover it. If she had kept her mouth shut and let China run its country without trying to demonize them for their actions, she would probably have been welcomed back with open arms. Her opinion of their actions is no one’s business and is not wished in China. But she’s making it every one’s business going public with her comments everyone has to listen to. China’s no threat to me, so I don’t care what they do. It’s their country.

But I’d be surprised if 40 percent of the under 30 crowd knew what form of Government China had.

* * *

And 60 million Americans were shocked to discover how deep and corrupt our “democratic” Republic had become before Trump spilled the beans.

I didn’t condemn her for anything. I don’t care how she handles her opinions. I only said she got what she asked for by doing what she did by attacking China in the press. China condemned her. But the problem is she now wants to enter a beauty contest event in China and they don’t want her there, so she plays the woe is me card because she did something that got her banned from the country. It’s their country, their rules, and they can un-invite anyone they want that they feel doesn’t live up to their standards or insults their people, leaders, or country’s theology, no matter what they are and how they interpret them.

If she had kept her mouth shut concerning China, like I said, she probably would have been welcomed back like the returning prodigal daughter. But if you do things or say things that could, and in this case did, upset the country, it was her decision to do so and put her return in jeopardy. China didn’t ask for her opinion publicly and is doing what they feel is justice to her attacks.

“You’re a real hoot bro...”

Attacking a person for an opinion is not how a debate is accomplished. If you want to debate the issue of my opinion, then you show me where I’m wrong. But remember, the rules are from a foreign country, not the US, so it won’t make any difference whether either of us feels it is morally or legally wrong. China has every privilege to do what they did. It’s their country. And the only person she has to blame for this is herself. People who badmouth others may get away with it in this country...look at the attacks on Trump, his family, and the people that support him. Here you take the chance of jail, lawsuits, and unless you physically threaten this country, you can say anything you want. Not so in China. You roll the dice, you take the chance. She crapped out.

I have read numerous accounts of Westerners who have worked in China. Chinese people are drones and will never rise up against the chicoms Years of indoctrination.

China has had an authoritarian form of government for more that 2000 years. Occasionally, the peasants revolt, say once a century or more. But, it always reverts back to the same Confucian form - allegiance to the state first and to the family second.
