A man is suing Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen for $5,000 because he couldn't get his hands on their famous chicken sandwich.
Craig Barr, of East Ridge, Tennessee, filed a lawsuit against the fast food chain alleging false advertising' and 'deceptive business practices' by the company
He claims to have spent 'countless hours' driving around in an attempt to buy the sandwich, which was released on August 12 but had sold out nationwide by Wednesday.
Barr claims while traveling to one location on Highway 58 he cracked a wheel rim costing him $1,500 and now he 'can't get happy,' Times Free Press wrote.
The civil case happened as Jose Cil, CEO of Restaurant Brands International, who own Popeyes, announced that he never expected the sandwich to 'break the internet' to CNN.

silly lawsuit but he does seem to have a point
big corporations shouldn’t do massive advertising unless they have the products on offer
He should drive to Chik-fil-A. Tell them his troubles.
I would bet they would give him a free Chicken Sandwich.
Love that chicken from Popeyes.

If you cant get happy, you can sue!
It’s the beans and rice for me!
whenever I go to Popeye’s, Im the only guy in line who ain’t a “brutha’..
Really? Then he's a lucky SOB. I don't get the hype over this. But apparently Popeye's is all anyone is talking about. In a positive way.
West Oakland Bart train. Could see it from above. Popeyes was the only ‘new’ building in a rough neighborhood-1980’s. My lady friend’s comment: “You KNOW that place is gonna get robbed”
I honestly don’t trust going into a place like that for fear they are going to mess with my food
here is a recipe from DM comment
Want to make your OWN Popeyes chicken sandwich? Here is the secret....get some chicken breast cutlets. Marinate them in some pickle juice or some dill. Salt. Little garlic. Let marinate for about 5 or 6 hours. Maybe longer. Make your egg wash in one bowl, mix some flour, salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, buttermilk powder and a little dill in a separate bowl. Coat your marinated cutlets with the flour mix, then dip in the egg, then back into the flour mix. Fry in 375 degree heat hot grease till brown. Put it on a brioche bun with some hamburger klaussen brand pickles with plain mayo and BOOM you got a Popeyes Sammie. Thank me later.

If I were the judge I would ask him why he didn’t simply call the restaurants first, instead of driving around for “countless hours”.
Probably saw this. employee says dont come to popeyes

Correction, jump to 29 second m,ark. 8>)
Have they done massive advertising, or is it just a social media sensation?
I’ve not seen a single commercial for it on TV.
Screw the plaintiff. I hope he wastes his money on legal fees. There’s no way a company can be successfully sued for running out of something....I don’t think.
I swore off shopping at Target a long time ago, because every time I went there to buy something that was advertised on sale, they had run out. I confess, I would love to see them sued for it, because it was such blatant bait and switch.
guy mad over chicken sandwich jumps through drive thru window

I was out with the family today when my wife floated the idea we could get KFC.
Turned out we went food shopping instead and when I pointed to frozen chicken pieces my wife said “maybe”.
I replied: “Hey, someone told me KFC”.
We got two boxes.
