But enough of the riders do fit the bad description. I would expect that those who are dangers to themselves and others contribute the majority of the statistics. And, of course, accidents can also happen to careful people as well. Once the accident happens, well, the bike rider is usually portrayed as an angel.

If bikes want to share road space with motor vehicles, they should be required to buy licenses, insurance, and have on-board cameras that record in 360 degrees. That way bike riders who cause an accident will share responsibility for their actions.

I know the type you are talking about and even in conservative TN where I live I see them. They are rude and obnoxious. My point was though that not all riders are that way. We enjoy the exercise and outdoors. I typically ride alone on off-road trails but if I am on one of my back country roads I always am respectful of vehicles. Oh, and I mount a GoPro and a .38 revolver on my bike when I ride. :-)
