Popeyes might have a solution for customers who want to try their sold-out chicken sandwiches.
The fast food chain shared a new marketing video on Thursday informing customers that they will be able to enjoy the sandwich so long as they BYOB — Bring Your Own Bun.
The popular item from the New Orleans-style restaurant sold out two weeks after it was added to the menu nationwide, prompting Popeyes to create a way to ease customer’s “sorrows and cravings,” the eatery told PEOPLE in a statement.
“Popeyes still has the best fried chicken in the game, so bring your own bun, order 3-piece tenders and voilà! You can make your own sandwich,” the restaurant added.
In the clip put out by the fast food restaurant, Popeyes shows customers how to go along with the gimmick.

Why doesn’t the restaurant do this for their customers?
Its good that they run out. It means that there will be more female Teens starting brawls which means more entertaining youtube videos

Good idea. If their sandwich tastes like their fried chicken—fried cardboard—then no thanks. Ate there once, never again. That is not food, it is almost inedible.

Having no buns for a sandwich could lead to violence in some locations.
Just go to Church’s Chicken and don’t forget to order some Jalapeno Poppers.

Because the long-term plan if this goes over is to get them to bring their own chicken to put in the bun and then pay $7 to sit in their place and eat your own food.
You couldn’t be more wrong. Popeye’s has gotten the hood out and has shadow-branded themselves as Louisiana Kitchen. They’re basically a fast-food soul restaurant now, and have found their niche. A couple of Popeye’s have opened in two lily-white cities here in WI, Appleton and Manitowoc.
Wonder if they are going to do away with the brioche bun. It’s probably way more expensive than a regular bun. And a lot of us don’t care for brioche.
We have a Popeyes right down the street. Give me a 3 piece, spicy, with mashed potatoes. Love that gravy.

Popeyes comes out with a ‘new’ sandwich which almost immediately is not available due to massive ordering.
Popeyes floods the market with ads pushing the new chicken sandwich and really can’t find ANYONE who actually had one.
NOW they say they have the chicken, no bread is the problem.
Kind of like the old ‘toilet paper’ shortage, mention a few times there will be a shortage of TP so the masses run out and buy TP by the case ..
VOLA! The projected TP shortage is now a reality..

I agree. Popeyes has no seasoning & on the rare occasion I go thru the drive thru they forget something.
Or just make your own.
