Prior to being a rocker, he was a NYC policeman.

He played in Arcata at Humboldt State. The only concert I ever attended. It was great. Late 70’s or early 80’s.

I’ve still got him on vinyl. I’ll listen in his honor tonight. Seen him twice since he came out of rehab years ago. The last time his son & daughter were on stage jamm’n with him. It’s amazing how many hits he had and how many you forget about until you see him in concert (since I don’t pull out the album very often).

Seemed like a sweet man based on the interviews I’ve seen. He thanked God for saving him from drug addiction, which is a wonderful testimony. Sad for his kids, who played in his band and appeared with him on “Real Money” on AXS TV. Yeah, regarding Keith Richards, only the good die young (and 70 is young nowadays, notwithstanding his drug issues earlier).

That’s too bad. One of my favorites from the old days.
RIP, Ed!

didn't he also do “I love a rainy night”...the song where the beat matches the rhythm windshield washers make?

I saw him in the late 70s when he opened for Dave Mason (of Traffic fame) at the Universal Amphitheater in L.A. Very good show. That was at the height of Moneys popularity.

Everytime I hear his name I flash back to Cleveland 1978, World Series of Rock. The lineup for the day was to be Todd Rundgren, The Cars, Bob Welch, and Fleetwood Mac.
He was the first act and the huge crowd, for the most part, ignored him. He ended his set to a few polite boos and he left the stage, only to return for a encore! The crowd rumbled with displeasure. His act had become tiresome and he ended the encore, that nobody asked for, to a loud chorus of boos and and angry sun burned threats that he better not come out again.
It's a long way to the top , if you wanna rock 'n roll.

What a week.
I guess Daniel Johnston was the one, who had the OTHER ticket.
