The meeting took place on the same day the governing coalition parties in Germany met to decide on climate measures targeting the transportation sector to ensure the country meets its 2030 goals to combat the climate crisis. Spending toward that end could approach a reported €75 billion ($83.6 billion). […]

The EU, says German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz, must find a way to put a sensible price on carbon dioxide emissions, optimally on an international level. “I believe we are currently in a situation where many say ‘we’d like to do something on a national level, but no one else is.’” […]

The European Commission, the EU’s executive arm, submitted a broad palette of possible methods for determining the price for climate damaging emissions in order to collect money to invest in climate protection.

The EU estimates that trillions, not billions, will be needed in the coming fight against climate change. […]

The new Commission, which will begin work in November, hopes to introduce a kind of tariff on carbon dioxide. The plan envisions assessing the sustainability of imports from third countries. Those with poor ratings will then be taxed accordingly. …

Taxes and fees are for two reasons only: for revenue and control, but not necessarily in that order. This has nothing to do with “climate change” as we cannot control it.

I am sure the Dems want to do it here too.

Any excuse to raise taxes and climate change sounds good as a reason.

We better make sure to reelect Pres. Trump and elect R-s to have a majority in both houses of Congress.

Very true. But as Abe Lincoln said, you can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.

Unfortunately in the case of the human-caused climate change lie, those of us who can't be fooled seem to be in the minority.

I’m not so sure about that. Every poll asking what issues are most important has GlobalClimateWarmingChange coming in very low. Leftists just make a lot of noise and have most of the media to broadcast it.

Whenever a jet airliner or private aircraft lands in their country, they should be heavily taxed based on the the amount of fuel it took to get there.

I really do not understand how giving even more money to politicians to spend will chill the world. The economy perhaps, but the sun?
