That's how I remember them ... token was 15 cents

Before the fare went to 15 cents there were no tokens. You just dropped a dime into the turnstile slot.

My grandmother had one in her coin collection, but I never used one.

Now that you mention it, I vaguely remember that, but was just a kid and didn't ride the trains all that much.
I probably remember the token because of it's unique design ...Thx ...
