RIP.
Didn’t know he was that old.
Great catalog of tunes.
Thanks for all the happy times in the late 70s & 80s.
Oh no.
The Cars’ first album is one of the greatest first albums ever made. RIP Ric, and say hi to Ben for me.
Eddie Money, Ric Ocasek and who will be number 3?
Wow another one Keith Richards has outlived.
Classy band. They generally shunned the spotlight, We all have different tastes in music but the Cars were cool cats.
The Great Boomer Rock N Roll Die Off is well underway. RIP
He paid his dues for years, to only have had his first success in his mid-30s.
The very first CD I ever bought was the The Cars.
Only surprising because he looked pretty good for his age, at least with some of the more recent pics of him I saw.
AWWW!
I had his first single.
RIP, Sir.
I admired Ric for one thing... If a guy, who looked like him could get a girl, who looked like Paulina Porzikovia, and guys, who looked like Billy Joel could get a girl, who looked like Christie Brinkley, I thought that maybe, just maybe there was the tiniest bit of hope for the rest of us. :P

Kevin Cronin and Dennis Deyoung better check in with their doctor tomorrow.
Good music. The kind you like to listen to driving at a little over the speed limit.
Ric was #3. Daniel Johnston passed a couple of days before Eddie cashed in one of his tickets to paradise.
CandyO. What else can I say?
I think he and his wife split amicably recently. I could be mistaken. A kick in the gut, this is one of those reality check moments. Losing Benjamin Orr to cancer was eventual as we saw him in public at the end. This is stunning.
“We used to joke that the first album should be called TheCars’ Greatest Hits,” said guitarist Elliot Easton.
If it wasnt for the Cars, we might not have had the greatest scene in 80s movie history (hint: the song was Moving in Stereo).
Ric Ocasek and Ben had unique voices. They only sounded like each other. Sometimes have to have a scorecard to know who sang what.
