Scott Peterson is on death row in California for essentially the same crime.

Maybe Peterson should renounce his citizenship and ask for a new trial?

Peterson actually WENT to trial. That's why he got death. I'd bet he was offered a plea deal at least to get life if he saved them from the trouble of going trial.
