you make the mistake so many here make. DOJ is in the executive branch of government,. Trump leads the executive branch. Trump hours the head of the DOJ. Ask your grandparents what The Buck Stops Here means and where it originated.
IMO YOU make the mistake many here make— assuming a POTUS whom we happen to like can do what we want him to, to a person we don’t like (wishful thinking) without any checks & balances, due process, etc., and it’s all wonderful unless a POTUS we don’t like tries to do the exact same thing to someone we do like, in which case we’re outraged.
The DOJ & the courts still must act independently, according to procedures established by law (as well as their interpretation of the law—there’s the rub!) they’re not supposed to do a President’s bidding when he snaps his fingers.
And that’s as it should be.
