It never really seemed to catch on as I wished it would; this is the first time I've ever seen anyone not on the right use the term.
Joe Sobran used the term regularly in his columns. Of course, WFB fired Sobran, so his reach was limited. But you are right. I have never seen a Dowd-type use it. She may not realize she's part of it.

I could be wrong, perhaps it was Joe Sobran who coined it. It was definitely in NR that I first encountered the term.
