Well, of course a site called ‘grownmenstuff.com’ is going to come to this conclusion.

Winston Churchill always had a cigar in his mouth, and was also a drinker, and lived to be 90.

How can death at over 90 years of age be considered early death?

The trick is to stop at two drinks. People who have the genetics or the psychological predisposition to alcoholism can’t stop.

Statistics say that the average person has 9 alcoholic beverages a week ... it’s good to know that I’m above average

Ok, we have established that we want to drink a bit, and that it alone is better than exercise. But what if you do both? The study says both extend life.

This is true because I want it to be true. If that’s scientific rigor enough for climate science, it’s plenty for beer.

A study funded and brought to you by the California Wine Industry I’m sure...
Just like all of those silly wine memes on Facebook. Anyone who doesn’t think these are created by industry marketing groups are nuts.
The problem is, most people don’t drink like the “studies” indicate. A glass of wine is 5 ounces — not a large glass filled to the top which can be as much as a pint.
Bill Cody was famous for taking the advice of his doctor — who told him to cut back to one glass of bourbon a day — so he just got a (much) bigger glass.
Alcohol overall is an insidious vice in our country, particularly more recently among women. They have been convinced by social media (and underhanded ad campaigns through those platforms) that drinking is just a silly, harmless bunch of fun. Many of us have watched the decline of loved ones because they were convinced of its harmlessness.
I’m not in favor of prohibition (I’m for the legalization of many drugs including marijuana), but let’s not kid ourselves of any “health” efficacy for the sake of placating our desires and faults.

As a result, the researches concluded that people who drank two glasses of wine or beer per day saw an 18% drop in their risk of early death. On the other hand, those who exercised 15-45 minutes per day only saw a 11% drop. In other words, drinking alcohol is better for you than exercise for longevity of life.Ran a 10K race yesterday. At the finish line they served beer.
I should live a long time.

The problem with this study is that it is a lot easier to measure how many drinks a day someone has had vs their definition of exercise.
I see people at the gym every day and I would’t call what they do exercise. More like sitting on a machine and talking on their phone.

"...people who drank two glasses of wine or beer..." I should even live a lot longer than that...I drink 2 glasses (4 oz each) of a lot more potent stuff than wine or beer!😎 Zum wohl!
