Exactly. I hear this frequently when I'm in uniform. I smile and replay, "Thank you for your support."

Although some of the time the ‘thank you’ is said in a perfunctory manner, its still nice to hear it. Especially when said in connection with a veteran’s store discount. :)

Indeed. I treat it as an empty "Have a nice day." and just move on. To me, I was just "payin' my dues." and expect nothing.
