I agree with you 100% - NEVER use your debit card at a gasoline pump!

I have started to use CASH (gasp) to buy my gas, partly because they usually have a higher credit price.

We don’t have a credit card, haven’t used one for at least 7 years. At the pump you have to say that whether it’s a debit or credit card. I always say credit and never enter my PIN. Same at any store, there is always a way to sign for the transaction rather than enter a PIN.

Plus the bank will refund fraudulent charges. I don’t understand why a debit card is so much more dangerous than a credit card. Perhaps other people keep much more money in their checking account than we do. We keep most of ours in a money market and transfer funds as needed. No card attached to the money market.
