Empire star Terrence Howard says he is 'looking forward to just being Terry for a while' after the hit FOX show ends.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with DailyMailTV, the 50-year-old star also called for actors to be given better access to mental healthcare and likened his job to that of a soldier.

The Cleveland native also defended co-star Jussie Smollett – who was arrested for staging a fake hate attack on himself in January – and said the greatest moment of his life so far is a visit to Disneyland he made with his family on Monday.

Howard was speaking after being handed a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and on the day that the sixth and final season of Empire premiered.

I do agree Hollywood needs more mental health care. We all know that.

“and calls for actors to have better access to mental healthcare”

Sorry, but actors have all the access to mental healthcare they wish to purchase, just like anyone else. Why should they get a special government actors mental healthcare fund? Just because they chose a career that has them cycling back and forth between employed and unemployed? Since that is their choice, is anyone else to blame? No!!!

Those “stars” on the walk of fame are sure getting to be cheap thrift, aren’t they?

I can’t watch much American television these days. Started watching shows from UK

Currently watching The Detectorists that have two quirky characters you have seen in the movies but never knew their names.

I have enjoyed it. You can get a free 7 day subscription from a lot of libraries to Acorn TV and you just renew the free subscription up to 3 times a month.

I have known a few people who acted, mostly in minor, local productions. Some actors find it easy to leave a character and move on to the next script, while other lose a little bit of themselves on each separate portrayal.

When you are in character, a tiny bit of your mind has to embrace the role, swallow it whole. There must be a sort of suspension of disbelief for a while. Some were never all that grounded to begin with, so, there isn’t much to compartmentalize.

Bottom line, yes, if actors could get mental counseling without thinking no one will offer them any more roles, then yes, they should have access to that counsel.
Many pro athletes have similar struggles, that they feel must remain hidden. Even if the age of Social Media overshare.

IIRC, he was going to be part of the Iron Man franchise, but his head got too big so they gave the part to Don CHeadle for Iron Man II and beyond.

One of the posters here knows the real story behind that but can’t say in public.

Howard’s claim is that Robert wanted too much money and so they took his away.

Was he calling for the government to pay, or for the studios to pay?

I’ll admit I don’t know how the Screen Actors’ Guild works. How many members are there? Would it be practical for the studios to cover them all? Or just certain ones with X amount of experience?
