They recognize that Trump is unlikely to lose the election no matter who their candidate is, and likely not just the electoral college but also the popular vote. Their only hope is to impeach Trump, get the Senate to convict with a judgment to not only remove him from Office but to also disqualify him to ever “hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States.”
If they are true to their word and move forward, working behind the scenes to get enough Republican Senators to convict, may God help this country.
