Police: Woman on pills slaps officer, headbutts paramedic (mug shot)

DECATUR, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — A Decatur woman is facing several charges after allegedly attacking first responders.
Decatur police say in a sworn statement that they made a welfare check on Ashley Moore around 1 a.m. Thursday after she called a Crisis Hotline.
Moore reportedly stated that she took Hydrocodone pills to harm herself.
She allegedly threatened to batter the officers as she refused to get into an ambulance.
Police say she slapped an officer's right hand as he attempted to help her into the ambulance.
She later dropped to the ground, holding her hands underneath her body while kicking at the officers when they tried to handcuff her.
After she was finally placed in the ambulance, she broke loose and headbutted a paramedic in the forehead.
Moore is facing charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, aggravated battery to a paramedic, and resisting police.
