More importantly, the gun control laws in place in Illinois FAILED to work to deter crime once again. Public transportation is a “gun free zone.” It is forbidden for anyone to carry firearms aboard a bus or train even those who have qualified to carry concealed weapons.
This is another glaring example of how “gun free zones” do not work and only benefit the criminals.

There's a reason it's called conceal/carry and many of us who have it ignore the law when it comes to riding public transportation.
If someone sees your weapon on the CTA or Metra, then you're obviously not conceal/carrying properly, I say.
Yes, I ride Metra from the far, far SW Suburbs into Chicago once a week and yes, I conceal/carry while on it.
