.

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

Most common letter is misleading. Just play with short words and you will get there.

Double letters did it for me.

Yes. The double letter in the 4th word got me started on the magical path of the solution. About 2 and 1/2 min.

I waved a wand, Poof! the cg disappeared.

Guessed the double letters in the fourth word, entered my go to word for the first word which gave a clue to the seventh word...and abracadabra! the cg was solved!

When you see a 4 letter word with same 2 letters at the end, it’s usually that letter.

Today’s author’s quote is identical with the exception of a single synonym to a quote attributed to W. B. Yeats. I wonder who plagiarized from whom?

The short words led to the medium words, which led to the name.... and I agree. I’m just now discovering classical music and WOW.
