Yes, and I’m thinking anybody would be well served by using common rounds.
“Just what you see on the shelf, pal.”
Maybe the 308. But a semi auto shotgun is ridiculous for SHF situations. And good luck finding 10mm ammo.
If the bad guys storm my house (which us what the OP implied), I am not going to get out the back and leave my wife, who is an invalid. You can haul ass if you want, but such a measure is not on my radar.
Key words are “if you can”. In that situation of course I would make my last stand at the Alamo. I will do what needs to be done to protect the clan, but the best strategy is to not purposely box you and yours in if there an option to get out and mobile first.
Having ANY Firearm is better than having NO Firearm.

Sorry it took so long to get back to read replies. I thank all for the suggestions. I’m in better shape than I thought. I own 2 out of three from Lurker’s list. It’s time to find a comfortable handgun.
I love all the advice given. Freepers are the best

I too, as a matter of fact loss all my firearms to a tragic boating accident. If only I could have been smart enough to try and triangulate just where I was in the body of water, when the boat sunk. But it was a very windy nite, and the fog had just come in. Lost all of my weapons. What a shame. I've still not recovered from that loss, so many years ago.
To one and all, do be careful, and avoid hot lead, especially @ sub-sonic speeds. I hear it can be very painful.
