HOUSTON - A fundamentalist Mormon community in Mexico is linked to a triple-homicide that happened in Houston more than three decades ago.

Two brothers and an 8-year-old girl were killed execution-style on June 27, 1988, and investigators would eventually learn the killings were “blood atonement” for their sin of leaving a polygamous, Mormon cult called “The Church of the Lamb of God.”

The church, populated primarily of family members, was founded by Ervil LeBaron, a descendant of Mormons who split with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and immigrated to Mexico in the early 20th century to continue the practice of Under LeBaron’s leadership, the church became a criminal enterprise.

“Stolen cars, they were heavy into credit card abuse, forgery, they’d also done a couple of bank robberies,” said retired Houston police officer Richard Holland who investigated the murders.

Don’t know about that but the Moe politicians sure are soft on it. “It’s just their lifestyle, they don’t hurt anybody.” It’s the same lies you hear about the gays. I guess welfare fraud and human sex trafficking don’t bother Utah politicians and law enforcement. If you’re ever in those parts, tread very lightly, they use uniformed cops as enforcers. Polygamy is organized crime that should be prosecuted under RICO.

Are they preachy or do they try to convert you?
They do here in PA.

When whites get killed by non-whites, the Left invariable seeks to excuse it, or even (as in this case), justify it.

Add in some additional approved vs unapproved group membership, ie: Mexican (approved) vs Mormon (unapproved) and the murder-justification gets turned up to eleven.

That book is highly recommended for anyone interested in Mormon fundamentalism. There are probably hundreds of offshoots.

That is EXACTLY what the filthy, deranged communist “press” is implying. They have to provide cover for their pals in the cartels, and they are angry that one of the women said “hold on to your guns” on the air.

I agree.

The headline could be interpreted several ways.

Pretty disrespectful.

If accurate, it may be that the faction have deviated from the original teachings.

No, in other words it was not random violence or mistaken identity

Notice how silent the WH and mormon community have gone on demanding military action in Mexico

“I remember that well. What a horrible crime. Ervil LaBaron was just that... “EVIL”LaBaron...”

One of the more notable Houston murders on the 1980’s

Also notable was that kid in Memorial who shot the female postal worker.

That one just stuck with me.

There is no “original”. After Joseph Smith died, the church shattered. The largest remnant followed Brigham Young. The Smith family eventually sided with the RLDS faction.

You probably don’t live next to one of these weird Mormon subsets, most of which you pay for with your tax dollars because they have huge numbers of children, the wives are technically unmarried because bigamy is not recognized. But it wouldn’t matter anyway, because the men are either (technically) unemployed or engaged in other stuff, sometimes criminal, some times not, but basically earning little enough in paper so that their children get welfare. And their “compounds” are weird indeed.

I agree though, regular LDS are fine neighbors.

Didn’t I read that Mitt Romney was associated with this faction of LDS? Not kidding.

I wondered much the same thing.

Mitt is alarmed about Mexicans killing Americans, as long as they are in Mexico, but Mexicans killing Americans in the USA is ignored by Mitt.

Say what you will, but Mormons are great neighbors!...............

Until they want what you have or want what you wish to obtain.

There is no Mexicans vs. Mormons.

Now while you make it clear that in Dagnabitt world Mormons are a nationality, in the real world Mormonism is just another religion some people subscribe to.

Some Mexicans killed other Mexicans.

Their problem.

But the Mexicans that were killed had anchor babies, even though they had lived in Mexico for over a hundred years.

Well, we do need to end that anchor baby problem, but other than that its a Mexico problem.

We need to seal our border and let Mexico's problems stay in Mexico.

The anchor babies or the religion of various groups of Mexicans don't make their problems when in their home country our problems.

They can be nice people, but stuff like this and Mountain Meadows leaves one looking over their shoulder.
