Plague...

Plus PigBola
Plus Army Worm
Plus Tariffs
Plus Uncertainty leading to the fleeing of the supply chain
Plus Devaluation leading to higher general food prices
Plus Increasing unemployment
Plus Hong Kong and the infection it is spreading into mainland
Plus Massive debt incurred on non-productive assets (Ghost cities, etc.)
Plus the high % of GDP going to military/population control
Plus the soon to be cut off foreign (US) capital infusions
Plus the over extension on B&R foreign projects
Plus the takeover of productive assets and conversion to state run invariably inefficient operations
Plus the bailouts of major Chinese banks which are upside down

Sucks to be Xi.

It’s the diseases with no names, that we’ve never heard of, the ones that only have numbers to identify them...that’s the stuff that worries me.

There are a couple cases of plague in the US every year, sometimes into the double digits, almost all in the west and southwest. It tends to happen here just like it happened to the man in China—through exposure to infected wildlife while hunting or exploring the outdoors. It is treatable with antibiotics like any other bacterial infection, and it is fatal only in a fairly small minority of US cases.

China in the “Confucian curse” sense of the term is facing “interesting times.”

If it’s the kind that’s transmitted through blood like what ravaged Europe then it’s not as uncommon as people think. T
he one we need to fear far more is the airborn variety that can be transmitted through cough or sneeze.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

Yep. Thanks to the city of San Fransisco simply refusing to believe they had a plague outbreak in Chinatown 1900-1904.

They therefore did NOTHING to stop it, and by the time they reluctantly took action, it was too late, it had spread from the city's rats to wild ground squirrels and from there to almost all the west and southwest.

Nothing stopping it from spreading all the way across flyover country to where important people live...
