If you get a LYME tick bite you had better obtain the third week of doxycycline that the doctor cannot give you on your prescription. Your life just might depend on it.

Misuse of antibiotics results in antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria.

I knew this just from staying awake during 9th. grade biology.
Apparently a lot of doctors do not.

So the government is going to solve antibiotic resistance by regulating prescriptions and further meddling in healthcare. Yes I’m sure thats the answer /s.

Eighty percent of the world's antibiotics are consumed by animals. I get more antibiotics from McDonalds hamburgers than I do from my doctor.

Once this situation is corrected....I'll start paying attention.

Animals Consume Lion’s Share Of Antibiotics

"However, people use a much smaller portion of antibiotics sold in this country compared to the amount set aside for food animals. In fact, according to new data just released by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), of the antibiotics sold in 2009 for both people and food animals almost 80 percent were reserved for livestock and poultry."
