Jonathan Sawyer lives on several acres of unincorporated land in Jefferson County. He occasionally charters helicopters for trips to the airport. According to Sawyer, the trip is about double the cost of a rideshare service, significantly faster and safer than driving.

Typical Lib government, the only rights you have are the few we give you! Guess we will find out how Liberal their court is since the U.S. government does not have any power other than that which is granted to it by the U.S. Constitution.

Locally, one issue I have seen come up a number of times is the existence of hog farms. They have been there forever. A developer buys the neighboring land and puts up a few dozen mega-mansions next to the wonderful scenic backdrop of a country farm. During the winter months, they sell the lots and build homes and wealthy urban families settle in to their new "country" life.
Summer comes back around, the warm summer breeze carries the aroma from the hog lagoons across the countryside and suddenly, country life isn't so wonderful for the relocated city slickers and they start demanding new regulations on farmers and/or the hog farms be shut down.
The DC suburbs in VA have private helicopters dotted around. Presidents have been known to land at area golf courses for a round of golf.

I live in rural N Nevada. There are many kinds of animals all around this valley.
One old goat retiree is complaining that ‘since his neighbor moved in, he has lots more flies’. He is blaming it on the new neighbor’s 3 horses. The new neighbor also has 3 large dogs. Old goat has NO animals-—not even a cat.
I have tried to explain to the old goat that flies are far more interested in CARNIVORE poop than HERBIVORE poop. He won’t hear it. I invited him to walk behind my house & look at the horses there & see how few flies there were. He wouldn’t.
MOST current “zoning” matters should legally retreat to (a) a legal requirement the property owner have property casualty and home residential insurance, and then whether or not a house meets “code”, is “safe” and otherwise “O.K”, should be determined by the insurance company of the property owner, not bureaucrats.
Towns and counties everywhere should look at how little zoning Houston has, and how little that represents real and actual problems there. Of course, like many other locales, Houston does have many of those notorious HOAs, which can be bigger tyrants than governmental bureaucrats.
