Meanwhile further north, unusually dry for November near the BC-WA border, at 4500’ we have a very slight snow cover and there might be 4 to 6 inches over the higher country around us, bone dry in the Columbia valley with very little rain or snow all month. Normally in November we get a lot of both trending to 1-2 feet of snow where I live. The recent storm went south of us and dropped some snow in southeast WA and central ID.

At least it covers up the turds and needles for a few days.

I have family in the mighty metropolis of.North Edwards and when another family member decided to move to the neighboring metropolis of Boron from St. Louis their then 6 year old son lamented about moving to “the armpit of the world.”

Yep - and if you drive out of the valley and into Sequoia National, the temp drops and instead of a balmy day you can find yourself in snow - elevations are like that...

Finally got smacked with rain around 4AM accompanied by a tornado warning. Thankfully, we didn’t have a tornado in my area.

Grew up in the “Inland Empire”. Got used to seeing snow on the Mountains all the way from the San Gabriels east to the San Bernardino mountains down to San Gorgonio and along the mountain pass going up from the San Bernardino Valley and over (through Calamesa, Yucaipa, Beaumont, Banning, Cabazon) to the desert east of the San Bernardino mountains.

The extreme population has turned going up to the snow in the local mountains around S. CA a nightmare...For example, go to Big Bear and its bumper to bumper all the way up the mountain...No joke...It takes 2+ hours just to get to damn from the bottom of the mountain. Thousands line the route and park illegally as thousands of illegals play in the snow right off the side of the highway....Theyve destroyed it.1. That is a darn shame...truly.
2. However, those folks who destroyed it will be in denial and will end up blaming Trump. It used to be Bush's fault. Now it will be Trump's.

It really is a shame. I hate to knock the state I was born and raised in but it's the truth. In the last 45 years or so the state went from the crown jewel of the U.S. to a liberal over-crowded crap bucket in every direction. When I was really young it was the place to be. As the years rolled on, it just became worse at every level. A shame indeed. Now if you're wealthy and don't mind punitive regulations, high taxes, gas prices, sky high utility bills, less freedom and extreme liberal attitudes and overcrowding, it might be a great place.
Most places never stay the same, and they too can endure negative changes. But the changes to S. CA became unbearable and even frightening to the point where we barely recognized it. Even voting became pointless due to the fact we were so outnumbered and it was so corrupt. The fight to stay became pointless as well. But it worked out very well for us as we stayed in the southwest but outside the controlling diabolical and abusive influence of California.

Sound like you might be living in Arizona.
My mother and sister were born there. Phoenix is a MEGALOPOLIS now, extending forever and ever.
I still have some family, distant, who live in Tucson. My mother's brother worked the line in Nogales, Arizona. He ended up inspecting the trainloads of produce from Mexico. Everyone has passed on now and I have no reason to visit Arizona anymore but it certainly is a BEAUTIFUL state!
I also still have an aunt, my mother's first cousin, who lives in Torrance, California. If it's as bad as you say, then I hope she stays safe. She is in her 90's.
It IS a shame about southern California. We used to visit our relatives there every other year. Now, I don't.
