rainforests have existed a lot longer than the one currently the amazon.
The forest only goes back for 10-12 thousand years - before that it was open land with scattered forests. There is only one rain forest - there was none before the hundred year long comet strike on 10800 BC which changed the Earth’s climate and that has not recovered since.
