I think a lot of current stars try to come across as “fun” and sort of “one of the boys”. I’m thinking of Jennifer Lawrence and Anna Kendrick. Both are attractive, sure. But I don’t find them especially feminine. That doesn’t seem to be what they’re trying for. They’re too busy being “the fun girl at the party”. That’s not really sex symbol stuff in my book.

Another problem is the deliberate injection of lesbianism into the films. If there’s more than one chick in the group, she has to be attracted to other girls. And often, it is the only pretty one in the group. Charley’s Angels reboot comes to mind in this regard, but it isn’t the only one.
And then they wonder why no one wants to see the film and blame sexism.
Same issue with having a couple of cute teen boys on screen ... two of whom are supposed to have a crush on each other because liberals say at least 10% of the characters must be homosexual. And right now, it is approaching 20%.
