Last night I had to wait an extremely long time in line in a grocery store because the obvious Hispanic illegal ahead of me had to unload a semi truck load of sugar and fat laden snack foods on the register belt and pay for those, and then use her government funded card to pay for her other foods. Then she asked for a case of Similac, only to hold up the line further when it turned out her WIC card was out of money. Then the cashier had to take the Similac back where it came from, etc. etc. etc. I could see why some people get furious waiting in line. I was getting to that point myself at this hot mess holding everyone up with her nonsense, all the while intently aware that I was paying for this illegal's food. BTW, she looked perfectly able-bodied, AND she's got her anchor baby already. Fixed for life, thanks to our stupid politicians.
Or they’re what my buddy calls “Choosy Beggars” who want the checkout person to honor an expired coupon, and argue about it, endlessly. And there are, apparently, some in the lines I get in who want to negotiate to buy the store from the Express lanes.
Even worse when they don’t even start looking until the total is rung up (and they haven’t put any bags in their cart).
Wait, oh wait! I got coupons, lemme look...
These people do this $h!t on purpose - somehow it is one of the ways they make themselves feel more important.
I was once in line behind one snail who, as the checker scanned the items, logged onto her phone app bank account and argued with the checker about the amount that had just posted.
The verbal assault lasted a long while until a manager explained that the difference between her total at the register and what posted on her phone was sales tax.
