CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK)- A 21-year-old woman is suing the WV Department of Health and Human Resources for their alleged negligence when she was a child.
The lawsuit states that the girl was in Foster Care before being placed with her biological father, who she barely knew. Her lawyer James Barber says he had a history of abuse that shouldve prevented this.
Soon after being placed in the home, she was pregnant and told her Stepmother, who told her therapist that the father of the child was her father. The DHHR placed her then with the stepmother, who the lawsuit claims was still in touch with the father. That stepmother is accused of taking the young girl to get an abortion to conceal evidence. The girl would eventually be returned to her fathers care. He is now in jail.

Life dealt this girl a losing hand. That being the case, I don’t see her suing CPS is going to help.
Would she have been better off in an orphanage? Probably. But family comes first.
“You might be a redneck if you think family get togethers are a great place to pick up babes,” used to be a blue collar joke. But your own DAUGHTER?! Some good ol’boys should give THAT basturd an attitude adjustment.....or a redneck vasectomy...with a rusty hunting knife!
It’s more than that. In the video it said her “father” had an “past” and should have been looked into. In other words NO she should not have been placed there. They should have found some where else but they did not.
In case you are wondering what happened to him?

This is typical of what I’ve seen of social services.
It’s past time someone called them out on it.
A wonderful alternative is the Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services celebrating 100 years. https://www.bchfs.com/
I’m sure it is, but if someone calls DSS or whatever it’s called, they come and will take your kids whether you like it or not.
