It’s not really Mexican art unless its painted on velvet.
That was my first thought - Maude! And the only time I’ve ever watched it is long enough to switch past the channel. Although perhaps I watched it years ago and forgot. Or - she just has such a distinctive look and voice that it only takes an instance to have it stick in your memory.
Bea Arthur who really made her name known, her fame in Maude.

This is the second time the 8-inch by 12-inch painting has been publicly shown. It was on display at the Jose Maria Velasco gallery as recently as 2016. But Cháirez says there was no uproar then. The only concession he was asked to make was to erase the horse's erection.
