I have an aversion to it because I spent years in the retail industry having it pumped at me 80+ hours per week. Gives me bad Black Friday flashbacks.

Ditto and in spades; I was infuriated when I went to Walmart around the first of November and there was this tall Xmas tree just as you come in.
And don't get me going on those stupid car/truck commercials - that were repeats from last year; and that Black Friday sales nonsense since the beginning of Nov and before.
Whew! Done for now.
