I’ve always loved this. Thank you for posting. It was filmed in 2010, a few years before we began hearing words like “snowflake” and “triggered”. I have to wonder how people of 2019 would respond? I think most would love it, while others would, uh, be triggered.

Handel treated the human voice like any other instrument -- and expected singers to deal with the score accordingly. As a high tenor, after the glory of the ending, I've often felt as if I'd been garroted! That's why I sometimes "take breaks" by sitting in the orchestra as trumpeter...
But -- I still welcome any chance to sing/play Messiah -- one more time!

One of the things I miss about the country I grew up in is the carolers the went around the neighborhoods. I cannot imagine that happening toady. The corrosive left has just shredded our culture. There are many good and decent people but they have been ridiculed into the shadows and replaced by deluded woke idiots.
