He’s right. The economy doesn’t make Trump invincible. What does is running against a Borg collective of dumbasses who will destroy it if they win.

If Soros plunges the economy right before the election, the election fraud to defeat Trump could be accepted more credibly.

the currently strong U.S. economy . . . at a time when the IMF estimates that 90 percent of the world's economies are now already experiencing slowdowns.

If it weren't a republican, the media would conclude cause and effect: Our economy is strong because of our president. But it's Trump, so the propagandists pretend that it's only a coincidence that we have a record economy during a global economic downturn. The legacy media is disgustingly dishonest.

I doubt the bubble will burst unless the fed decides to collude with the Dems...and President Trump will not be shy in calling them out and making a good argument for shutting down and/or reorganizing the Fed...
Some small dips and bumps and coming on like gangbusters around election season is my guess.

2008 and 2020 couldn’t be more different.

Trump is an incumbent President, running for a second term after keeping faith with his campaign promises to put America’s interests first. President Trump is BELOVED by his pragmatic voter coalition of Republicans, patriotic Independents, and blue collar Democrats who are sick of their party’s rejection of free enterprise and the entrepreneurial spirit, in favor of minority pandering, socialism and the global corruptacracy. Anyone who voted for the President in 2016 simply CAN’T WAIT to vote for him again, joined by tens of millions more who will choose the known incumbent over the unknown Democrat jackass.

McCain was a nasty, old, two-faced, global establishment RINO Senator, beloved by no one, who had the misfortune of running against the “clean, well-spoken” affirmative action candidate. If he hadn’t picked Sarah Palin as his running mate, I doubt he would have won a single state.

As for the “economy stupid” - the US economy in 2008 was a bubble in the midst of bursting, not the capital rich, job-creating envy of the world as it is in 2020.

And yes, it is one outlet for all effects and purposes.
People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. - Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations (1776)
Considering that the wire services and their memberships are in continual virtual meetings, you have to be naive indeed to assume anything other than that they conspire against the public.
Hint: “journalists are objective” is a logical fallacy, sheer propaganda, and motivation for all jouralists to go along and get along with each other.
