Lurked for a long time while using schools computer. Finally joined when we got dial up service at home. Following the evening group there was a challenge. It took forever for pictures to download. There were lots of pictures.
I found FR on the sidebar of Drudge. Right around the impeachment time, or shortly thereafter. Disliked Clinton before he was elected. Practically begged one of my employees not to vote for him. Her reason - she thought Gore was cute. Unreal.
I lurked for a couple years and I have to say that Free Republic kept me sane during the 2000 elections. I was glued to my computer - office and home - refreshing to read every word on who was our next President. Ah, the days of the hanging chad! Finally figured I should join shortly after. Still refreshing!!
