There was a great skit on Saturday Night Lives in their terrible period in the early 80s. The setting was a local radio call-in show and the New York City public safety commissioner was the guest. People would call in with increasingly more insane crime scenarios and he'd say something like "Did you make eye contact with him? Well there you go! You can't do that, it's your own fault."
