It's interesting that in many cities police were required to fire a warning shot in the air before shooting somebody that was running away. Now, of course, things are different. They can't just shoot someone for running away anyhow - plus they finally realized what comes up must come down.

If only drunk people on New Years could realize it.

The problem is not spent bullets that fall from a height, but bullets that are fired at a shallow angle and hit a victim with substantial velocity. For some people, “celebratory gunfire” involves firing a gun in the direction of a neighbor’s house.

But what goes up...is at a very high velocity...what comes down is not.
