Windows 7 was released over ten years ago. It is time to let go.
I finally took the plunge and converted my remaining Windows 7 PCs to Windows 10 about 3 years ago. I have not had any problems.
Sure, sometimes I miss MS-DOS. It never crashed and the only software that I needed was Lotus 123 and WordPerfect 5.1. It was a pain though to reload the software from 5.25” floppy disks every time I wanted to use it.
But as a bitter clinger, I like my Vista. It's so old hackers don't even bother.
I updated my Windows 7 machine to Win10, then an update for the new OS bricked the system to the point I had to install Ubuntu to avoid buying a new machine.
The Vista machine, which wasn't even eligible for the Win10 update, is still going strong.

I’m happy with Windows 7, and even liked much-maligned Vista. Windows 10 is an abomination — a toy. It seems it isn’t for serious work. I donated my new (2 years ago) Win 10 laptop to my husband and ordered a Win 7.
My old XP laptop is sitting on a shelf and I need to have it looked at due to a nasty blue screen. XP had the best Sound Recorder for basic stuff. I know it can be downloaded for 7 and 10, and I’ve done that, but it doesn’t give good quality.
