They should run on Cuss.

Plenty of it everywhere on the planet, free, 100% renewable, clean burning, no environmental impact, won’t stain garage floors or driveways, and with Trump as President there is now a surplus.

Warning: it’s difficult to contain and mothers everywhere will slap the snot out of your skull if they catch you using it within earshot. It also causes cancer in California.

Most battery powered mowers’ charge lasts approximately 45 to 60 minutes, then the batteries need a few hours to recharge.

My very hilly lawn takes approximately 2 1/2 hours to mow with a gas mower, longer if I have to trim the edges and/or use one without self-propulsion. It also needs to be cut twice a week in the spring.

Using a battery-electric mower and line trimmer would mean I have to spend 2 full days a week in the springtime looking after my lawn. I also get a 2 1/2 bushel bag of clippings every 15 minutes when mowing, which likely would kill the battery more quickly if using the self-propelled feature.

I’ll pass on the battery mower, thanks.

Baloney. How in the hell does my mower which only uses 3-4 gallons A YEAR (while mowing a 1/4 acre every week) produce more pollution than 43 cars that drive 516,000 miles?
Even if those cars got 40 MPG that would require 12900 gallons of gasoline.

Even if i used 10 times what i use, 40 gallons pollutes more than 12900? Who believes that?
How much pollution is caused making all that gasoline? How much pollution is caused making the electricity for the battery powered mowers. How much pollution is made MAKING the battery powered mowers AND batteries versus a gas powered mower?
I also don’t believe for a minute that a battery powered mower will last nearly as long as a gas powered mower. Mine is going on 20 years now and shows no sign of slowing down.

As as been said on this thread, it is all about control. Whatever lie will work to get that control they will use.

No kidding. I believe that if you simply lit that 3-4 gallons it could not produce as much pollution as 12900 gallons no matter how it was used.

I have an 80v mower. In fact I have ten 80V batteries so I never run out of power. But even if I used all 10 batteries at the same time I would not get the same power as my old Swisher. No comparison.

“No gas, no oil, no filters, no gaddam pull cord - pull cord - pull cord... One button push, battery charge is good for an hour. I have to admit, it’s very convenient.”

I got battery powered blower and trimmers and they are so much easier to use, and no stink.

When something is better we should accept it and gladly adopt it.

Completely correct. I have the 80v trimmer, mower, chain saw, blower, etc. I have them all. I have ten of the 80v batteries and never run out. But I can say for a fact that if I load the loadable tools (trimmer, saw or mower) they eat the batteries right up. For example chopping leaves or tall grass with the mower. Boom, battery gone. Pull another of the 10 batteries and keep going. If you can't afford 10 batteries that's not going to work for you.

I got most of my tools with the 2-for-1 battery special. Sent in a mail rebate, got another battery in the mail. But I also destroyed a trimmer and mower and got new ones with new batteries. I keep all the batteries charged all the time and rotate them so they all get used.

“Lawnmower produces more pollution than 43 cars”

This is just plain RIDICULOUS on its face.

Define pollution, define the “lawnmower”, define the 43 cars, define produces, what measure of use?

How many MILES does the average homeowner drive their lawnmower? Lawn mowers (tractors) measure usage in HOURS not miles, There is a reason for that.

How many gallons of gasoline do you put in your car per year vs your lawnmower? I have no idea about my car (because it is a very LARGE amount over very many fuelings), but I can make a good guess about my lawnmower, (about 5 five gallon cans, I have a big yard).

I’m not going to entertain this ridiculous idea for even a nanosecond. It could only be true in some manufactured, tortured, use of statistics.

I have an old electric leaf blower. It can go all day. No battery, just a long extension cord.

“I really don’t know why anyone would buy a new gas-powered lawnmower.”

Unless you have 2 acres of
beautify cared for lawn like
I do. Just trimming takes
almost a full day. (With the
gas powered stuff). The battery
powered equipment charges can’t
compete with time and a full
days’ run wear and tear. I’ve
tried almost everything ‘electric’
only to end up pitching it in
the trash because it doesn’t
hold up to large scale usage.

I’m sure all of the well known golf courses, like Pebble Beach, Riviera, Palm Springs, etc., will just abandon the mowers and blowers to let the grasses grow (NOT)!

Do people have to be pre-diagnosed as mentally unstable before they are suitable to hold office in the CA State Legislative or Executive branches?
