I originally that it was a bad idea for the Cowboys to fire Garrett. He needed just a few more years, maybe 4-5, for his system to take hold. It was just too brilliant a system for the dim Cowboy players to grasp.
Now that this brilliance has been picked up by the fellow NFC East Giants, the tradition of winning championships and success that Garrett brought to Dallas will be visited upon the Giants.
Oh, I should point out that I'm an Eagles fan.
Although I’m no fan of Garrett, in his defense, he was never really given the chance to be a head coach. Couldn’t pick his own assistant coaches, etc.
I don't demand a winner (that would be nice) but a team that can be competitive via a front office/coaches that have integrity and guts. Redskins have failed in this for 20+ years, ever since Jack Kent Cooke died in 1998/1999, I think. Enough was enough.
The Redskins have gone from having a decades long season ticket wait list to where one can now walk up minutes before game time and purchase a ticket.
The most recent hysteria from Dan Snyder is he fired the entire marketing department - 54 marketing staffers, like they are the problems causing the empty seats.
In the previous year, Snyder hired away the head NFL Marketing guru to head up the Redskins marketing dept. From what I read, the league was happy since they knew the Skins needed help, but no one is good enough for Snyder.
There has been some shock, such as, I can understand abandoning the Redskins, but Philly - the same division - not Denver or some other distant team. Anyway, Philly has great fans.
So one question - can Wentz stay healthy?
Garrett was actually a good offensive coordinator at Dallas. Jones took that away from him when he became head coach.
