This is Illegal? We're not seeing a problem here:
SECOND CITY COP ^ | 12 Jan 3030

A Visalia [California] couple allegedly lured thieves with an unsecured bike and then beat them with baseball bats, police say.

Corey Curnutt, 25, and Savannah Grillot, 29, were arrested Wednesday and face charges of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy, TV station KGPE reported. The couple repeated the trap multiple times from July to November last year and posted the videos of the beatings on YouTube and Facebook, police say.

Neighbor Kerris LeBeau told KGPE that initially there was support on Dove Avenue for the couple, but then they “started to bait them and do it for other reasons.”

“There would be blood in the street or on the sidewalks the next day,” she said. Nature abhors a vacuum, and seeing as how law and order is rapidly abandoning blue shithole states, it's only natural that people take steps. Sometimes proactive steps. They didn't force anyone to come onto their property, and there is no law that says you have to secure your stuff on your property.

Hopefully, this couple gets a jury of people who have experienced similar crimes and are fed up with criminals being given walks. Labels: out-of-state, sarcasm AND silliness

Corey Curnutt, 25, and Savannah Grillot, 29

If Corey’s last name was Killutt, they could have been Killut and Grillot.

They are doing this in California? Where the state puts criminals above the law abiding?

Consider it as a community outreach project.

Those who hold the monopoly on force will not surrender it for any reason. They must be forced. This explains why elections cannot reverse the progression toward tyranny, though they can retard it. In history, it took a revolutionary war to stop the english.

Furthermore, once you let them take your rifle, you will not get it back.

Having had several bicycles stolen, I can sympathize.

Another great CaCa neighborhood where everyone walking by wants to steal your stuff with such frequency that you can video the action and make a game out it.☺

Now that right there was good!

Sounds like they need an outcome less severe than baseball bats.

Electrify the bike?
Superglue them to the bike?
Spray them with fluorescent paint that doesn’t come off?
Ghostbusters slime?

Other ideas...? ;)

I’m surprised the person wasn’t arrested and charged with all kinds of things. Usually only the police are allowed to do such a thing.

I’m torn on this one. On the one hand they purposely set out a bicycle as a trap for thieves and beat them, on the other hand the thieves attempted to steal the bicycle. The thieves are still thieves and were caught by the owners.

Is it morally wrong to lure and trap a thief?

Law enforcement does it all the time. They used to call it entrapment. Now days there is no such thing as entrapment, they have been handed an open unrestricted trapping license.

Police used to do that all the time up in Harlem on Friday nights. They would stake out liquor stores with teams of detectives assigned to the stake out squad. It became known was the assassination squad. Seems when the perp would announce a stick up, the partner on the team would pop up with a 12 gauge and blow away the robber. Worked well time someone survived. Seems on the stand, the detective said once confronted, he announced they were police and the perp was under arrest. The robber’s partner said, all I know is Ty announced a robbery and someone popped up and said April fool MF and blew his S..t away.

I believe it’s called entrapment.
If it’s wrong for the cops/LE to do it, it’s wrong for civilians too.
Posting perp beatings to the ‘Net is just stupid, begging for trouble.
“Street Justice” is best served cold, and anonymously.

I thought any injury or death while committing a Crime is added to the charges.

Example: Two guys break into your Home. You kill one guy and the other one gets away and is then arrested. He is charged for the death of his Criminal accomplice.

I personally said the same thing on our prior thread talking about this.

I see no crime.
